MARATHI SODALITY
In the early days, Sodalities were formed to help the Parish team of priests maintain the Church viz. helping in the Sacristy, cleanliness etc. and also to pray for various intentions of the needs of the Parish. With the evolution of the daily functioning of the Church, these activities are now done by other Cells and Associations of the Parish and the Sodalities now focus on praying for the intentions of the Parish.
The Marathi Sodality was initiated in 1950. In the earlier days, Dharavi Women and Mahim Women had many members with Men and Women together. Now, there are only 30 Women.
Meetings are held every Monday at 05:30 p.m. The Rosary is recited followed by an input session either on Bible passages or daily happenings in society. The Annual Feast is celebrated on 7th October every year in honour of Our Lady of the Rosary. During the season of Lent, Stations of the Cross and Mass are conducted in Marathi. In the month of October, the statue of Mother Mary is carried from house to house and the Rosary is recited.
